Support Units
As the name suggests, support units are units that usually don’t directly attack, but have unique abilities to help other units.
He has an ability called «Shinzou o Sasageyo» that increases damage for enemies within his range. His ability can stack until 200%, and has a 30 second cooldown so it is recommended to use 2 of him (If equipped with bomb orb). He is a highly popular unit.
Gives cash to owner every wave. Most recommended for infinite mode.
Working very similarly to Bulma, he costs more to max out but gives you more cash.
Third money unit added to the game, she costs slightly more cash than Bulma to max out and slightly less than Escanor while having the most income in the game, making her arguably the best unit for money.
Nami works like money unit as well as a damaging unit, but she gives considerably lower money and is unrealistic to make a profit aside infinite mode. Her damage is also rather low and therefore she is considered one of the worst supports.
The main use for this unit is an ability called «Domain» that works very similarly to the «Time Stop» and «Road Roller» abilities of Jotaro and DIO respectively. In exchange for a longer stun, he costs more overall.
Domain stops time for 7 seconds or 6 seconds.
A Time Stop unit, Jotaro IV is able to stop enemies within 40 range for approximately 4 seconds. This can, in some situations, be better than Gojo as his Time Stop has a larger range and shorter cooldown, but Gojo is considered better most of the time.
A Time Stop unit that, at max upgrade, uses a Road Roller to damage the enemies during the Time Stop. Considered one of the worst Time Stop units as he costs more than the Jotaro 5 star, has a higher cooldown, and terrible damage.
Has an ability that rewinds the position of enemies. This can be used as a replacement for the Amor Bus ability for Funny Valentine, but also as a replacement for Time Stop units, although there is a high cooldown to this ability.
A Time Stop unit that was one of the first to be added into the game that has a relatively low cooldown to their ability compared to DIO but lower duration compared to Gojo and Jotaro IV, however, unlike DIO, he does not do an attack during his Time Stop.
Boosts the range of units inside his range by 35%. DOES NOT stack like Erwin and the strength of the buff will not change even if Merlin is level 80.
His ability, Amor Bus will make the base unreachable for enemies for 15 seconds and push back enemies that are near the base. He cannot be spammed as there is a global cooldown for this ability.
On upgrade 2, his attacks slow enemies down upon getting hit. The enemies will maintain this effect until they die. This is considered the best support that directly affects enemies as the slow can be used to clump up enemies, making dealing with all of the enemies overall easier, as well as the slow effect not having to be triggered by a manual ability.
Leveling
This page is about the level of units. For player levels, visit Level Ranks.

How Leveling Works
In All Star Tower Defense there is a system to increase a character’s level using other units as fodder. You can feed units to others to raise their base damage at any upgrade by a single percentage (e.g. level 21 = +20% damage). For units like Wish, Salesman, Sword (Maid) and Bellma (Money Corp), the money/HP that they give per wave is increased by an increasing amount per upgrade (Upgrade 0 is unaffected while the Max Upgrade is a noticeable improvement).
While keeping this in mind, if the unit was level 101, it would be a 100% DMG buff Levels after level 80 give a lower amount of DMG buff (the amount is currently unknown), also please keep in mind that Wish & Bellma have a different scale buff with levels.
Let’s make it simple: Let’s say there’s a level 1 unit that does 100 dmg every 5 seconds, that’s 20 DPS, and increases by 100 dmg every upgrade.
The current max level that a unit can achieve is 150.
For the next table, it’ll show you how level buffs the dmg.
Unit | Level | Damage | SPA | DPS |
---|---|---|---|---|
Upgrade 0 | 1 | 100 | 5 | 20 |
Upgrade 1 | 1 | 200 | 5 | 40 |
Upgrade 2 | 1 | 300 | 5 | 60 |
Unit’s DMG | Levels | 10 | 20 | 40 | 80 | 100 | 120 | 150 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
100 | Upgrade 0 | 109 | 119 | 139 | 179 | x | x | x |
200 | Upgrade 1 | 218 | 238 | 278 | 358 | x | x | x |
300 | Upgrade 2 | 327 | 357 | 417 | 537 | x | x | x |
Essentially, each level is a percent buff. (%) since level 1 is the base stat, in order to double it, you need to add on another 100 levels, which is level 101.
Exp 1, a leveling unit
There are also special units available from Gold Summons (see Summoning) and Infinite Mode known as EXP units, units giving much more experience than other units of their tier. But, they are the worst units in the game (for battling) and cannot be fed. If you want a much more in-depth version of how levels affect the stats of units, please visit this specific blog: Leveling A Character
With the level cap being level 150, Units can have a 2.04163276526x DMG buff when maxed. (*)
You would need approximately 34 EXP III’s to max out a unit to level 120.
Strategies
Strategy 1 (For beginners):
Play Infinite Mode and sell your units at wave 20 to purposefully lose. You earn 2 EXP I (Sometimes 2 EXP II, or 1 EXP I, 1 EXP II) doing this strategy.
Strategy 2 (Best method if you’re in a hurry) :
Strategy 3 (For high levels, Best Strategy) :
Play Infinite Mode (Extreme) and try to auto skip full way to wave 60, this is just like damage farming but our main goal here are the EXP units. It is suggested to play with duo for this strategy to maximize waves cleared without the annnoying max units reached. You can check our Infinite Mode Units Tier List or in the discord server to find good units to use. It takes around 30 to finish 1 run. You get approximately 3 EXP III’s (Upon evolving all EXPs to EXP III) depending on how many waves you survived and your luck (Go to Infinite Mode or go to «Evolutions» section below for EXP I and II chances). This strategy is the most efficient for your time, but you need to have good units and level 50+ (To be able to bring 6 units).

Effects and Mechanics
There are characters in the game who do not do just straight out attack damage, but have extra effects, like burn and bleed damage.
Gameplay Tips
Most of these abilities will not stack on top of itself, therefore you are advised to space out your effect dealing units along the map if possible (Although, this obviously isn’t an effective strategy for Erwin). Different abilities will stack, so you can have a unit take burn, bleed and poison damage at once. The Black Flames ability is not a fire ability, so that can stack as well. When spreading your units along the map, it is recommended to set your units to ‘strongest’ to maximize the amount of enemies hit.
Freeze/Stun
Freezing causes an effected enemy to stop completely. For example, Rodoroki(Enraged) freezes, same with plenty of others, but freezing comes with a toll, you cannot time stop or time rewind on an enemy that has been hit by a freezing unit. Stunning is the same thing as freezing, but no ice effects
Poison
Poison causes an effected enemy to lose health gradually over a 21 second duration. Poison effect does not stack with itself, so space out your units for maximum efficiency. Additionally, poison does not slow a target, despite popular belief. Once hit by a unit with poison, the enemy takes x6 damage dealt every 3.5 seconds for another 21 seconds, effectively dealing another x6 attacks every 3.5 seconds over time. There has been some confusion over the unit Purple Smoke, based on Pannacotta Fugo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Unlike the anime character, he doesn’t deal poison damage in this game.
Current units in the game with Poison are:
Summoning
An ability of several characters is to be able to summon units that travel along the path from the base to the enemy spawn point. When a unit hits an enemy, the enemy takes damage equal to the summoned unit’s current HP, and the summoned unit takes damage based on the enemies attack. Once the summoned unit runs out of HP, it vanishes. Feeding a character to raise its level will also raise the HP of its summon as a result.
Characters that can summon are:
Income
These characters can provide extra income at the start of every new round. Cost orb is recommended for these units (Except for Nami and Whis)
Characters that are able to support other characters are:
An ability to permanently lower the movement speed of the enemy hit. A very powerful and meta defining ability.
Currently there are only 2 units who can slow enemies upon hit. They are:
Black Flame
A stronger version of burn effects. It work similarly, but will deal 20 ticks of damage in 20 seconds. This effect is unique to only 2 units in the game currently. Which is
Controlable
In the game, there’s a few character which cannot attack nor deal any damage on their own even when placed next to an enemy, even though their damage is not 0. These units will have a manual ability which will allow you to summon a mecha figure that you can then hold E to control. This effect is very very powerful, because it will gain any unit essentially infinite range. However, it came at the cost of you having to click constantly on the enemy in order to deal the maximum damage. Currently, there’s only 2 unit with this ability:
Bonus Damage per Wave
Some unit have an ability which grants them additional bonus damage for every new wave. This is better for infinite mode obviously, but can help with story or trials. Upgrading the unit further will not remove this bonus.
Unit Tier List
This page classifies different units to different ranks depending on how good they are in both Story and Infinite mode (excluding S+ Tier). We consider all aspects: SPA, Damage, Range, etc.
S+ Tier (Current meta for Infinite Mode)
Currently, these units are being used to reach the highest wave on the Infinite Mode leaderboard, NOT whether they’re really good or not. Before you add any units, please show proof of it getting to the current world record, or at the very least, provide stats and explain why it is great. Otherwise, it will get deleted and moved.
Note: For the Infinite Mode leaderboard, it is most recommended to go in a trio team or duo team, because you can bring more support units.
Mass Destruction: Units that can inflict big damage on a lot of enemies at a time. They are generally units with huge AoE cone, Huge circle AoE, or Full AoE with big range
Max Wave: 98
S Tier
Best units for Infinite, Story Mode, PvP Mode, and Damage Farming.
NOTE: Most of these units are not permanently S tier, and they can get replaced next update by stronger units.
Mass Destruction: Units that can inflict big damage on a lot of enemies at a time. They are generally units with huge AoE cone, Huge circle AoE, or Full AoE with big range.
A Tier
Good for majority of story but recommended to use units from S tier
B Tier
Units good for Story Modes around lvls 20 to 60.
C Tier
Good Substitute Units for Story Modes around lvls 1 to 30.
D Tier
Discontinued/Unobtainable units
There are currently fourteen units that have been discontinued/Unobtainable.
