Question about Texture Paint problem : blender
In earlier versions of Blender, I could paint in Texture Paint mode directly on a texture I had assigned to the model. But now in the newer versions (I think 2.7 and up), you have to assign a new material when you go to Texture Paint mode and it just creates a new material and doesn’t use my texture.

Textures are a checkerboard/boxed pattern: That means the MRL3 file is corrupt, broken or missing. You need to use the same MRL3 as the MOD3 you last imported into the scene (it uses the last imported MOD3 as reference data).

I would import to SP fine, the 2 materials show and with an ID map all seemed to work, I just wasn’t getting the unwrap the way I wanted, then suddenly in SP not all the UV’s would show, as though they weren’t there at all.

When texturing and shading an object, you might find it cumbersome to UV map every single part of a texture. In some cases, we may get away without a UV Map. Dang another function they took out of the hotkeys. Hggrrrrrr! I find that so lame, one of the biggest things i hate in BL 2.80 Many functions you tend to use a lot and know it cant get a shortcut.
PS you forgot to show «Find All» option in the left panel. Than it will look for all missing files in the current active folder. I guess you had it checked, yet you didnt show it.
Still a nice addon is amaranth, this will populate a list of missing files, that way you have a bit of guidance where to look. Its an old addon by Pabo Vasquez, yet its missing currently in release candidate 2. It should be in the folder «addon contribute», yet this is now empty suddenly.
I downloaded and installed latest Amaranth and it works in 2.8.
I asked @blender in twitter about this missing addon, but never got an answer.
From where actually? Because Pablo doesnt maintain it, his only works up to 2.79
Sorry, was my mistake.
If you check 2.8 nightly builds it is there and works.
Well I had updated it myself already as well in the beginning of this year. Than it was officially update and includes ded in contrib add-ons. I wonder why it still not been admitted though.
