SKSE «Please update to the latest version of Skyrim» Launcher
Hey guys/gals, I need your help.
So I recently installed SKSE, from the SKSE silverlock homepage, choosing the Beta Runbuild skse 1_06_11. I followed this guys installation guide on SKSE, and adding the Data folder on Nexus Mod Manager.
However, when I try to run the SKSE mod loader, the little black launcher box in the corner appears, and then I get a message saying «Please update to the latest version of Skyrim.» I have launched Skyrim from Steam without any problems, and Steam is launching the latest version, 1.8.151.0.
Help would be highly appreciated.

Okay, so I installed SKSE, not the beta runtime but the other one. It launched and worked. However, I have two mods installed (besides SKSE) on Nexus Mod Manager, SkyUI and Quality World Map. They are not activated when I launch the SKSE. I’m also currently downloading another mod.
Any reason for why SkyUI and Quality World Map is not working? They are both activated and latest versions.
Double EDIT: I double-checked, and Quality World Map is on, but not SkyUI. That’s wierd. Any reasons why SkyUI is not working? I have the latest version, 3.2, and latest version of NMM, 0.44.2.
What does «not activated» mean?

SkyUI, when I activate it trough NMM, it doesn’t show any error message. Launching SKSE works perfectly fine, as it’s supposed to. Quality World Maps is activated as a mod, using the SKSE. However, I don’t get the SkyUI’s UI when I load my character and go into my inventory. It’s wierd. And yes, I have tried re-booting my computer.
EDIT: The initial problem (fixing SKSE) is solved.

Просто перед обновлением сохранитесь в чистый сэйв в меню паузы в новый слот сохранений и выйдите из игры
Обновите поверх старой версии с заменой всех файлов

I’m not using steam so what should I do? The same thing happened to me
My skyrim version is 1.4.21.0. Can someone help me how to get SKSE like my skyrim version or tell me how to upgrade is. It will be so helpful.

This might be because your Anti-Virus don’t trust your program that you download.
It might be your Anti-Virus. If I were you, I would uninstall SKSE and download by searching at Google or msn or something else. My point is that you search it, not by clicking at the link that’s been give. I tried and no virus or it is just my Anti-virus.
The problem is that I don’t have the latest version of Skyrim so it won’t work. It would be helpful if someone help me about this situation. Please hurry because I’m trying something stupid by now and I have more like 20 crashes. Glad I know how to solve it.

How do I update my Skyrim without steam support? I would just find the SKSE that works for my runtime but a bunch of mods that I want to use say they require 1.6.16 or newer for SKSE.

You have to run the latest version of Skyrim for many mods to function. Are you saying you don’t have Steam at all or just are not using it currently to run your game?

(Please understand, I have already googled this topic, looked for everything I could find, tried my own troubleshooting, but to no avail. Anyway.)

I just wanted to see if any of you in your seemingly infinite wisdom had any idea about things that can cause this error message. I just recently started up Skyrim again, and I grabbed up Dragonborn DLC and a few new mods, and I had to update to the latest SKSE. I went to the correct website and I know I installed it correctly. A few things:
-I recently added a SSD to my PC and I transferred my Steam games over to it, and I copied my mods folder wholesale, but to the exact same reference points.
-I am currently using patch 1.9.32.0.8 of Skyrim and patch 1_06_13 of SKSE, which are supposed to work together.
-I re-installed Skyrim from scratch on this SSD, so I had to re-download SKSE to use SkyUI.
-I tried deleting my local data and re-installing Skyrim, but that didn’t work.
-I installed SKSE by copying the Data folder from the SKSE download into the Skyrim main folder, which is how I did it back when it worked, and how Gopher recommends it.
-I have a ton of mods installed, so I don’t think it would be practical to list them all here.
I think that’s all the relevant data I can give. I will update if I forgot anything. If there is any other info needed to assess, please let me know. I seriously appreciate any help, and when a solution is found I will make sure to post it in case anyone else finds this thread with the same problem.
