serum was unable to load a noise due to a missing file что делать
1. How to Find Serum’s Presets Folder
The first good news: you don’t have to close your DAW. Simply navigate to Serum’s Menu in the top-right, and select Show Serum Presets Folder.
Your OS’s file browser will open up at the correct system folder containing Serum’s factory presets.
2. How to Add your New Serum Presets
All Serum presets have the file extension FXP – regardless of whether you’re on Mac or PC.
Now we can copy or move the entire new folder from our Downloads into the Serum Presets folder that we opened via Serum, in the ‘Presets’ folder, as shown here.
When we return to Serum, go back to the same menu and select Rescan folders on disk.
Our new presets now show up alongside Serum’s Factory bank.
It’s worth renaming the folder to something more relevant. You can do this using your OS file browser, and Rescan the folder in Serum once again for this to take effect. See our notes about how best to organise your Serum presets at the end of this article for more info.
3. Installing Serum Noises, Wavetables and LFOs
With your presets installed, sometimes the newly-created wavetables, noises and LFOs, made by the sound designer will be installed as part of the FXP patch, but sometimes not.
If your preset fails to produce noise when loaded, you may need to load the required wavetables into Serum as well. Serum can also bring up an error message when it can’t find a certain element, as shown below.
In this case, your downloaded preset pack should contain custom wavetables, noises and/or LFOs to drag into Serum’s other preset folders. Depending on the developer, the destination could be in the User folder for the Noise, Wavetable or other element, but the most likely way to get the sound working is to simply drag the included folder straight into the relevant directory in Serum. Don’t forget to Rescan folders on disk after this.
4. Using Imported Wavetables, LFO Shapes and Noises in your own Serum Patches
Once any Noises, ‘Tables’, and LFO Shapes are imported into Serum, you can also freely bring them into any patch you’re working on elsewhere.
5. Organising your Third-Party Serum Presets
Remember that Serum can’t access folders within folders, so if you do attempt to install your third-party packs within the User folder, you can only drag the individual FXP presets in – only one layer of folders will ever be visible, and that’s the top layer with ‘Serum Presets’

Please sir help me i have this problem. Can you help me via using anydesk software
Hey zen. I got a different issue. I’m not able to add preset folders in serum. And when i add individual presets, the names shows but it doesn’t load. Help me out
.. or what u wana do is take them out of the «serum noises» folder and load them into the «noises» folder
Boss! U inspired me for the solution.
Can’t even load half the presets, Same error still occurs. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Pile of trash.
Just had the problem but my folder was the right one. i renamed my file (without ä ö ü) now it works. couldn’t handle the letters in my case
I made songs with that, it said me «this was made by newer version of serum, but I got the newest version, wtf
Hey, for anyone facing this issue I’ve found an answer:
Go to «C:\Users\ your account name \AppData\Roaming\Xfer\Serum»
and open the Serum.cfg file with notepad or a similar txt editor.
Scroll down to the end and it should show you the path where the presets go.
(where the actual folder is).
This really worked for me.
Yes. Mine was directed to wrong folder. Changed the name and in the text file and it found it again.
@Tom Foreign Let me know if your need more help.
@Tom Foreign If » [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Serum.aaxplugin/] » Really is the folder where your presets are on, than just open the Serum.cfg with notepad, and edit the line I marked in yellow for you.
This is the content of my Preset folder:
prnt.sc/v0uz7c
Just so you can check.
@Tom Foreign Bro, this is the path of your aax plugin. Go to:» C:\Users\ your account name \AppData\Roaming\Xfer\Serum «;
I’m gonna print my Serum.cfg file.
There we’re gonna have the SERUM preset folder in the end: I’m sending you mine for example.:
prnt.sc/v0uy45
I can’t seem to get rid of this issue. The only way to fix it for me is if i move my presets folder into my program files, but the issue is that I cannot save any of my own presets because I get a popup that says this program doesn’t have administrator permissions to save files here. I don’t know what to do and help would be greatly appreciated because it seems no body else has this issue but me.
same thing is happening with the selected presets only some work and tryed evrything uve said on this video when i search for the nosie folder the all show up but when i search for the noise folder through serum to load preset it doesnt show anything please help
doesnt work with new versions
I know this is an old vid but I’ve been having the issue of when I click any part of serum it will stop playing the sound does anyone know how to fix this issue?
FFS after way too many hours spent I finally found the fix. Navigate to your»C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Xfer» folder and delete the Serum folder. I recommend making a backup copy before hand, just in case. Serum will generate a new one upon loading a new instance. You will have to show hidden files and replace USERNAME with whatever user you’re on. It even says this in the manual (how to uninstall serum). SHAME!! Finally my projects load with the correct wave-tables!
Nope. Asks for serial number
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. 🙁
The AppData file directory could differ depending on how your computer is setup but you need to find the «AppData\Roaming» section (hidden by default).
where you go to click on the presets from inside serum under the «DATE» category It says invalid plz help
my
some presets in serum is not working plz help
Thank you

No offense intended Zen, but this is a lazy workaround, and completely unnecessary. This happens because the person who created the preset named their folders a certain way and the fxp file is looking for the path THEY used to find the wavetable.
For those that don’t want to muck up how you organize shit by arbitrarily renaming folders there is a better way so that the FXP looks for the path YOU use. 1st, You should know what folder your wavetables are in.
So when you get this error, instead of renaming the folder and messing up your workflow, just open the drop-down menu for the wavetable on the OSC giving the error(big red rectangle where the WT name should be), find the wavetable that’s missing in the menu, then just save/overwrite the preset. Boom, done. No renaming folders, preset name is the same and it will load the WT properly every time now.
Always good to scan through your presets every so often to make sure you don’t have missing files.
No problem. I am tempted to make my own video for this, not as a spite on Zen(hes awesome) but just to kinda offer a way that doesn’t inherently involve mucking up one’s folder scheme. 🙂
I see. That’s true, I rather my folders be named in a way that I find useful and organised. Thanks.
well the issue comes from the person who makes the preset and how their filesystem is setup when they create the FXP file so if you do come across one that has the error, then yes you will. But in the long run this is a better solution than creating rogue folders to fit the system that the creator had.
What if I have tons of presets with this issue? Is there no 1 time fix for serum to know the file path name has changed so I don’t have to keep save/overwrite-ing the preset?
