Now every time i go to exit COH i get a black edgless window i can move my mouse in inside a black screen if u get me, nothing will get rid of it no alt tab or alt ctrl delete, i just have to wait until it clears.
Can anyone explain whats going on? i’ve looked here n there n found no mention of it, thanks 🙂
This is a weird one! I use BK-mod and I get this error on some maps but only when using Wehrmacht units. When I use Panzer Eliter units everything works fine.
I’m pretty sure this isn’t a graphics card/driver issue. I use a GTX 680 with 2GB VRAM and I have 16GB DDR3 RAM onboard.
Do you guys get this error when playing ‘vanilla’ CoH as well?
Just ran the original version of the game, no problems. Double checked task manager to make sure RelicCOH.exe was not running and started the Steam version, ran with no problem. Exited to Windows, and then started the Steam version once more and the problem popped up again. Loaded up the original, it worked, exited back windows, loaded Steam version, it worked. Exited to windows, tried to load the Steam version again, and encountered the error. Checked task manger, waited a minute and tried to load the Steam version, it worked. Not a hardware or graphics driver issue, clearly a bug. I guess you should just keep trying to load it, and it should eventually work.
On an aside, does anyone else feel like the graphics are not as impressive in the Steam version? Maybe it’s just me.

As for specs Im on a windows vista.

As for processor and ram. I checked my system but it said unavailable for some reason so im getting these online.They should be correct but on the website it says it is 64bit on mine it says 32 so. yeah
But anyway heres what it gives me.

CPU Intel core 2 duo t6400/2GHz
Dual Core

I have also been playing 1918 mod and also runs fine.

Your OS along with your hardware seems to be a bit old, so I’m also guessing your RAM is DDR2 and not DDR3, that’s why you’re having trouble even tho you have 4 gigs of RAM.
I’m also guessing your video card is not too far behind, what I suggest is you follow every guide on lower your game’s demand, meaning you put the game at the very lowest possible settings, set everything to 0 in your config file located in your my documents CoH relaunch folder (you can either google it or ask me to guide you through the process if you’re having trouble with it) EXCEPT for the texturemodels, those stay at 3, for some odd reason if you set it’s value to 0 it goes to the max, all the way up to the highest possible setting, don’t know why.
You should also make your replay folder read only (again, either google it or ask me) and use Razer Cortex to help free up some RAM, that should at the very least help you with most 1v1 and 2v2 maps if not for the bigger, 3v3 and 4v4.
I’m very sorry but this mod is very big and demanding, and not to mention that the engine is very old now, almost 10 years old, so you’re either left with 2 options that are either make the most of your hardware with these small tweaks (they’re just time consuming, not really hard to do) or upgrade your computer’s hardware, if you can. Here’s a new post for this issue that may help those with the crash which occurs in the late beginning to middle mid game. I had this f*&king problem for 3 weeks. The error log showed «out of memory» on nearly all I checked, but I knew this should not be the problem.

Turns out it was due to the texture quality setting. It was set to «Ultra». I changed to «High» and now I can turn everything else back up and never crashes.

As far as the type of game and number of players, the bigger the map and the more players in the game, the quicker the crash.
Game actually looks better now too. I could have sworn it was always on Ultra, but memory of this is not sure enough to be certain. Try it.

I keep seeing this in my event viewer for the error logs.

Sager NP-7338
Intel i7-4810MQ
16 GB RAM
Win 8 64 bit
Geforce 860m (Nvidia Optimus)
The game’s executables have both been manually set to use the Nvidia GPU, all drivers on my system are up to date as well.
PS: If anyone is wonder why their error pop-up says «The build server will stamp this field» its on the Description field of the actual EXE file.
EDIT: If you just want to play Singleplayer or Skirmish I recommend the Legacy versions. The Steam versions appear to be not working for me.
