Please consider for a future update (that isn’t a beta release) moving to prompt to during the actual installation process if it cannot find the folder, and there legitimately is not enough space for the installation.
the folder has nothing to do with it, it all have to do with your drive and how much space you have left on it, if there’re is not the space on it then you can’t install that game on that drive. most people buy a different drive to put all games on and move them to that drive same with steam and any other game hub you use.
Right, but I’m not referring to that. Let’s say the game is already installed, and I simply moved the installation folder to free up space on one of my drives. Because Steam currently does not have a feature that moves my installation folders for me (that isn’t in beta) I’ve found it to be way easier to uninstall and reinstall the game from my library. Usually, the installation process finds the folder and either finishes installation instantly or it downloads a few files in case there were any issues with moving the folder.
The problem that I’m having is that it doesn’t look for the files first, it just tells me that the directory I wanted to install the game to is full.
laravel new; application already exists error
I have installed Laravel before and I deleted that folder, and now after several months I install Laravel installer but when I write the command laravel new in Windows Powershell it returns this error.

I created project. But I deleted it. When I create project again with the same name, I encountered this problem. After, I runned this command:
Only, I added —force end of command.
If you’re having problems, delete the parent directory. There’s a chance there are hidden folders scattered across it.
Otherwise you can try creating a new folder in another directory and running Laravel new in it.
The folder location doesn’t matter, it just generates content of a Laravel app.
Once you’ve created a new folder, you can move all the files across to your other folder with the following: mv laravel/* /var/app/myfolderlocation
I have faced the same issue while creating a new project on the latest Laravel through Composer but didn’t find any solution and at the last, I tried to create a Laravel project by the following command and it’s working as expected.
or, you should remove that folder and let it be created by command as follows:
Explanation:
As I get the following error.
I tried to figure out this issue and found a function that is placed under %appdata%\Composer\vendor\laravel\installer\src\NewCommand.php on line 184 as follows:
here verifyApplicationDoesntExist function is checking that the application folder you are trying to create has existed or not, it’s not checking the application folder’s size so it doesn’t matter if the folder is empty or not. so due to code like that, the composer thinks application already been created that’s why it throws an error like your application already exists.

What Causes Destination Folder Already Exists Error in WordPress?
This error occurs when you are trying to install a WordPress theme or plugin. WordPress extracts your plugin or theme’s zip file into a folder named after the file itself.
If a folder with the same name already exists, then WordPress aborts the installation with the following error message:
Destination folder already exists. /home/user/example.com/wp-content/plugins/wpforms/
Plugin install failed.
The first thing that you should do is visit your themes or plugins page to see if you have it already installed on your site.
If it isn’t already installed, then this could mean two things:
1. A previous attempt to delete the plugin or theme didn’t succeed, and it left the plugin / theme folder behind.
2. A previous installation attempt was interrupted and left an empty destination folder.
In either case, there is a folder with the same name as the theme or plugin you are trying to install. This folder is stopping WordPress from completing the installation.
That being said, let’s take a look at how to easily solve destination folder already exists error in WordPress.
Fixing Destination Folder Already Exists Error in WordPress
First you will need to connect to your WordPress site using an FTP client or cPanel File Manager.
Once connected, you need to go to the /wp-content/plugins/ or /wp-content/themes/ folder (depending on what you were trying to install).
Now, look for the folder named after the plugin or theme that you were trying to install and then delete it.
You can now go back to your WordPress admin area and retry installing the plugin or theme like you would normally do.
You should be able to install your WordPress plugin or theme without any error.

mklink error: Cannot create a file when that file already exists
I am trying to create a symbolic link on my win7 64bit machine to redirect the iTunes backup data to another drive. I am pretty sure the syntax is correct but cannot understand how to clear this error. I have tried both commands below which have the same error. I am running in Administrator Command Window. Could there be some corporate group policy preventing me from running this command?
Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

the syntax is incorrect. mklink has the following synatx:
Target is the file/folder that exists, and Link is the created one that links to the target.
so the command should be:
See the Microsoft Documentation for mklink usage.
The simplest way is to delete the Backup folder in the original Apple Computer folder on the C:\ drive, but leave the MobileSync folder be. This is because you’re trying to fake the existence of the Backup folder (so it must not exist already), but you also need its parents to exist.
Then, if we run the command:
mklink /J «%AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup» «E:\iTunes Backups»
Windows will hence create a hard link shortcut Backup on the C:\ drive.
Note: Make sure you use straight quotes, otherwise you get a syntax command error.
I just wanted to add that the error you mentioned in your comment above System cannot find the path specified appears to happen when you are symbolically linking at a folder sub-level which doesn’t exist at the link’s original source.
Meaning you can’t link
It will not work unless at least
exists as part of the link source. You would have to either link
or you would have to create at least an empty folder at
and then create the link
Ransomware Protection can also cause this when you have «Controlled Folder Access» enabled.

Eclipse project already exists
I deleted a project in my workspace, then tried to create a new project with the same name. Eclipse told me that it overlaps the location of another project (the one I just deleted). How do I fix this?

In the dialogue box, check ‘Delete Project Contents on disk’
It worked. I was able to create the project with same name again.
I had the same problem with the IBM Integration Toolkit, which is based on Eclipse. The problem also occurs in Android Studio, which is also based on Eclipse. crazyscot seems to have the right answer at A project with that name already exists in the workspace eclipse and his solution worked for me.
You need to open up the Project Explorer view (it may already be open) and delete the project from within there.
Go to Window >> Preferences >> General >> startup and shutdown >> workspace theen select Recent work space then click Remove and close the program and open it again
You have to manually delete the project folder from your «workspace» directory (wherever you have defined it to be).
here ProjectName is the name of project you can change it to whatever you want.
First you create a project in some other location with the same name of your project as before.
Now delete this project by right clicking on project > Delete. Do not check the dialog «Delete Project Contents on Disk». Now you move your newly created project through file manager to the original location(location where you are not able to import your project).
Then import the project from the newly moved location(location where you are not able to import your project).
try moving the project and try importing
go to tab window>preferences>search workspace> then make sure in last / is not in your recent workspace. Example-:/var/www/html
your url should like above.
With the same problem, I did a text search and found an XML file containing the name of the project.
I had copied the project from another project. Let’s say that I copied project A to project B. Although the XML file in the new project (B) was named for project B, it had an entry which still referred to project A. When I edited it, the problem went away.
Go to create new project. Once there, select the project type. Mine was PHP project. The new PHP project screen will popup. There, click create a new project and give the project name which you used before. Then press finish.
In 2021, Using Ubuntu 20 here is simple way to remove it.
In Eclipse main Menu
In the search type recent workspaces
Select and delete the project. click apply changes
Removing a project from an Eclipse workspace does not delete the files by default. You have to check a checkbox for that. This is a Good Thing. As you have not checked the checkbox, you have to delete the files manually using e.g. a file manager.
go to the folder and delete the file .project. This worked for me.
