DOSBox, старые досовские игрушки. Некоторые при попытке запуска выдают сабж. Смутно помню со времён доса, что дело решал экстендер памяти dos4gw. А, может, и неправильно помню. Короче, как такие игры запускаются?

Скорее всего, нужно еще выставить совместимость с 98. В крайнем случае помогает виртуал бокс со старинной виндой. Профильный форум находится на old-games.ru.
Есть небольшой шанс, что запускаешь не тот файл. Часть exe могут, по сути, быть dll и иметь такой заголовок. Сталкивался с таким дважды, помогало запускать все bat-файлы подряд, чтобы найти нужный.

Неправда ваша. Это MZ-стаб PE-файлов, их досовских не бывает, винда 3 минимум. Use wine, Lune!

Почему же? Какой стаб встроишь, такой и будет. Хоть «This program is powered by finely trained slowpokes» и запуск format.
А щас вообще This program must be run under Win32.
Сложность с установкой Windows 8
Доброго времени суток, друзья!
Без лишних слов перейду сразу к делу: возникла проблема с установкой win 8 на ноут samsung np350v5c.
Ранее стояла так же восьмерка, но увы, умер жесткий диск =\ После замены винта и записи загрузочной флешки, не могу запустить установку, так как exe файл не хочет открываться в DOSe. Сообщение вида: this program cannot be run in dos mode.
После длительного поиска, который оказался безуспешным, не вижу другого выхода, кроме как задать данный вопрос на этом форуме.
Надеюсь на понимание, минимальную критику, поправку на ветер и подробное объяснение =)

Не могу установить Винду,запускаю установочный диск он его не запускает пишет нажмите alt+Ctrl+Del.
Чтобы на ноутбуке с предустановленной Win8 (в BIOS’е ноутбуков с другой предустановленной ОС нет таких пунктов) установить другую ОС, или выбрать загрузку с определенного носителя (например, USB-флэшка или внешний HDD/ODD) необходимо сделать следующее:
1. При включении ноутбука нажать F2 и войти в настройки BIOS.
2. В BIOS’e, во вкладке Boot, изменить значение Secure Boot на Disabled (при этом система выдаст предупреждение, нажать OK).
3. Появится дополнительный пункт OS Mode Selection выбрать UEFI and Legacy OS (при этом система выдаст предупреждение, нажать OK).
4. В BIOS’e ноутбука, на закладке Advanced, в пункте Fast Bios Mode установить значение Disabled.
5. Нажать F10 и в открывшемся окне выбрать Yes (ноутбук начнет перезагружаться).
7. В BIOS’e, во вкладке Boot, выбрать параметр Boot Device Priority, в пункте Boot Option 1 установить необходимое устройство, с которого ноутбук будет выполнять загрузку.
8. Нажать F10 и в открывшемся окне выбрать Yes (ноутбук начнет перезагружаться).
