I’m using mcafee and have no problems using it in any other games. This is a common bug that affects various people and not only myself. It is not on my end.
Wrong. There are countless threads here about this VAC error and it IS on your end. AND McAfee is on the list.
The first step in troubleshooting this is to accept what I posted here.
Hum, no it isn’t because this hasn’t happened to me ever since I downloaded unturned which was approximately 1/2 months ago. It only started happening yesterday.
Again, as I already stated that means NOTHING. You freely admit to the software here (the game in this case) changing, so an issue that you never had before can appear later.
And again, McAfee is on the list. Let me please just save you some time and headache here. If you are going to be unwilling to take steps to troubleshoot this that are suggested here by users that have experience with helping others actually solve this problem, then you are just wasting your time posting and asking for help here.
That list you gave me is of no help at all because it tells me everything I already know.
That list that you say is of no help at all has helped here more times than I can count. Of course, sometimes there is software that is confilcting that is not listed there, as that list is old and needs to be updated most likely.
BUT, when something is already listed, then it is certainly suspect. I am not saying for sure it is your antivirus, but it IS on that list. So the first step is to get rid of anything on that list. That means to get an antivirus program that is not listed.
Also, you should be prepared to post a screenshot here in this thread of ALL of your installed programs and be also prepared to uninstall any program that is suggested for you to uninstall.
Post your complete system specs, including OS.
It’s not necessary to uninstall any program/anti-virus just because of one game. If this *bug* cannot be fixed then I will simply stop playing the game.
Thanks for clearing that up quickly. You have just stated that you are unhelpable here, as you freely admit to not being willing to uninstall a program that is KNOWN to be problematic with Steam, along with pretty much any program at all for that matter.
The proper way to go about troubleshooting anything is to remove all known possibilities. After all known possibilities are removed, then you move on to unknown possibilities. You have a known possibility there and it is McAfee. And you also freely admit here to not being willing to uninstall anything at all. So you really have no idea how wrong you perhaps are here in this case.
No, we only see users here post from time to time about this error because the error is on YOUR end. I am sorry that I personally cannot help you, since you don’t really want help in the first place and are unwilling to do the possibly necessary steps to accept that help.
And you admit to only playing using wireless. You have not even tried to play using ethernet.
