Так вот меня интересует, в честь чего это они сначала платеж заблокировали? Что-то проверяли видимо: подозреваю, что возможно просто попал пот «подозрение» пайпаловских «ботов-ищеек/сторожевых псов»? Чем-то я им в этот раз не понравился, и система решила блокирнуть платеж до выяснения всех обстоятельств?
Вроде я перед палкой чист: «не был и не привлекался»

So I commited to buying an item. Paypal would not work to pay for it. So I decided to click pay with card option. It never was even asked for my card details and went straight to Your payment is pending. It now has an hourglass symble next to it. Can’t even rememeber the last time I would of payed by card on ebay and can’t seem to find any info on what card details I have stored in ebay that it would process without needing to enter card details. This is the first time I have ever had a payment pending when buying on ebay. I’m not sure where the payment pending is even coming from since I can’t find any card details of mine stored in ebay.

Does the seller have «credit card» payment in the listing? If not then you can’t pay by credit card and the seller will have to send a new invoice to you, which will cancel the first payment.
eBay would not give the seller your credit card details even if they had it.

Unless you were asked for your card details so you could pay the seller direct then the credit card option goes through Paypal. Is the transaction showing in Paypal? If it is and it says pending then the seller, presumably a fairly new one, hasn’t upgraded their Paypal account and you can only accept a couple of card payments using a personal account.
If it doesn’t clear in a couple of days contact the seller and ask them to sortit out at their end.

No it is not showing up in my paypal. I have bought from this seller before, and they have a lot of sales so they are not new. I usually use paypal to buy, but when i tried paypal wouldn’t work because I had a negative balance. So i clicked pay with card option, planning on putting in my card details, but that never happened, just went striaght to payment pending. I added my card details now to paypal and made my paypal balanace back to 0 hoping that would get things moving along. But it is still pending, and I see no transaction of it anywhere in my paypal or bank account.

I would ring paypal to make sure what is happening.
If you have a bank account attached to paypal they may have taken the money from there when your card did not work. that would explain why the payment is pending.

If you selected ‘pay by card’, it means the seller has a merchant credit card facility. You will need to contact the seller and give them your card details.
Payment pending happens when you haven’t made a confirmed payment. Paying by bank deposit, cash on pickup, e-cheque through Paypal (which this isn’t), merchant credit card facility will all show payment pending. The seller has to confirm payment for all except an e-cheque.

No it doesn’t. Pay by card has nothing to do with eBay or Paypal. eBay will never ask for the card details, nor will Paypal because the transaction hasn’t gone through them.

Unfortunately, the OP (lylithlane) hasn’t visited the forum since 23-07-2018, at 11:29 AM, and is therefore unlikely to respond to your question.
This is a bit of an old thread; it would probably have been better for you to start a new thread detailing your issue, but if there’s any help that can be given by other eBay Community posters, I’m sure it will be posted.

I`ve got 5 buyers who`ve paid hrough Ebay, but the payments are being held up to Paypal for some reason.

I have the same issue, Paypal initially said it was fraud, then they said I should ‘claim my payment’, there’s an option on eBay to claim my payment but this just logs me into my paypal account, where there is no sign of any funds!!
The buyer is chasing up his payment and I don’t know what else to do!

I cannot «accept» payments from my winning bidders through the get payment option on Ebay. Because for some reason my email address has been messed up. I`ve contacted the buyers to cancel payment through Ebay and pay direct through the Paypal website.

Welcome to the community.
We don’t recommend sending the item until you can see the funds in your PayPal balance. Check with your buyer to see what email address the payment has been sent to, if it is not active and confirmed on your PayPal account this could be the reason the payment is pending.
Alternatively, it would be an issue from your buyers side and we would suggest they contact us directly so we can help with this payment.

Sounds like it could be a problem with the sellers email address
Tell them to do this:-
Go to your ebay sold page find the transaction and click «more actions» at the side
Click «sell similar» scroll down and double check your ppal email address is correct without any spelling mistakes on your listings
If its wrong try adding that one to your ppal and see if the money comes thru
If the money doesnt come thru come back for more advice
Ask if their ppal acc is linked to their ebay acc?

I bought an item, paid for it through PayPal. Received acknowledgement via email that payment was made to seller. The Item was shipped and received. There was minor damage to the item noted when the package was opened. I contacted the seller though ebay meassaging and explained what happened. We came to an agreement ( which was the least expensive) for the seller to refund an agreed amount of money to have the item repaired at a local shop. The refund amount was sent to PayPal and PayPal notified me that a refund of the agreed amount was issued. I was satisfied and so was the seller. I left a positive feed back on ebay for the seller. Note. All comunications and transaction were conducted through Ebay.
My ebay: Summary page under the tab Activity, under the item I had bought now says, «Your payment is pending.» Under the Action column, it says «Veiw PayPal transaction». I go there and log into my PayPal and every thing looks normal. It says I paid for the item and a refund was issued from the seller.
Going back to my summary page I looked for other actions I could take and was limited to; Veiw item details, Contacting the seller, Return the item, Sell the item. I selected contacting the seller. I sent the seller a message explaining what was going on, the the item in my activiy now says, «Your payment is pending.» the seller said there was nothing they could do, that everything on there end was ok.
I don’y know if this «Your payment is pending.» is going to effect me or my rating but it needs to be rectified. Finding any effective way to resolve this problem on Ebay is like finding hen’s theeth. There are no contact numbers or even a email form to reach customer service that I could find. Looking through Ebay Community seems to be a fruit less effort. I see people who are complaining but NO Answers.

I just sold an item and according to ebay the buyer has paid via paypal
However, when I log into my paypal account the money is not actually in my account..
It says that the payment is ‘Pending’
I promised to send the goods on the same day as payment, but I do not want to send the have the buyer scam me by claiming the money back..
If it helps, I paypal also state the following under pending ‘ OK to send. What’s next? Print Postage Label? Add Tracking Info?

The details link in paypal should also explain why the payment is pending. Usually an e cheque payment with an expected clearance date.
If it is an echeque you should wait for the funds to clear before posting any item to the customer.
A note to the buyer explaining they have paid via echeque so that their item will be posted on clearance lets them know the situation. It could be simply that they have not updated their card details when the old card expired.

As a new seller you are subject to the standard 21 day hold on payments.
Log into your Paypal account & then All Activity. the payment will show as pending although not as available funds in your account balance
You must post the item within 7 days if Paypal say OK to send
If you send tracked & add the tracking number in Paypal or buy tracked post through Paypal then 3 days after delivery the funds will be released
If sent untracked then funds are not released until the 21 days are up

Send the item by a trackable means, enter the tracking in ebay and paypal and the hold should be lifted more quickly.
I could have sworn the term «Hold» is in paypal details, not » pending».

I can understand the whole ensuring people don’t sign up, sell a fleet of Boeing 747’s that don’t exist and then dissappear off to the Bahamas etc, but is it really fair to treat new sellers this way? and to expect a new seller to post items despite not being paid? or having to wait 3 days to 3 weeks for the actual payment?
Surely fraudsters would simply perservere with the initial period of having to wait for payment by selling small items of not much significant risk, before they can go ahead and sell the 747’s that don’t exist, delaying, but not preventing them for a free life of luxury in the Bahamas?
Just seems a tad unfair to me?

Or one simple sale of a high end camera or lens. can easily be 2-3000 profit before being caught. & they can have cleared their accounts without the 21 day hold
In fairness as soon as you get 10+ve feedback the hold tends to be removed
There is also the chance that where an account has not been used to sell for a while it may have been hacked. hence the hold is put back until good selling practices can be seen
