Adventure
Приключение / квест (Adventure) – «адвинчура» довольно старый и распространённый жанр компьютерных и видео игр, в котором игрок управляет персонажем, продвигается по сюжету, решает головоломки и избегает опасностей.
Такими играми чаще всего называют квесты и все игры с элементами квеста, то есть с головоломками или задачами требующими «включения башки». Иногда используется термин Adventure-экшен если всё выше перечисленное дополняется беготнёй-прыготнёй, стрельбой и гонками. Так же почти все игры жанра Survival horror можно отнести к адветчурам.
Один из самых знаменитых игр этого жанра: Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Syberia, The Black Mirror, Machinarium, still life.
Action-adventure – поджанр приключенческих игр, в котором активное действие доминирует над головоломками, хотя последние не исключаются полностью. Почти все приключенческие игры современности стали содержать в себе экшен элементы (погони, стрельбу, беготню). Если говорить прямо, то это смесь квеста и экшена.
Самые знаменитые игры этого поджанра: Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3, Prince of Persia, Alone in the Dark.
Adventure
Приключенческая игра (адвенчура, бродилка) — жанр компьютерных игр, в котором основное внимание уделяется сюжету, обычно игрок в роли протагониста должен достичь определенной цели (англ. — quest). Для жанра характерны большое количество диалогов, хорошо продуманный сюжет и детально раскрытые характеры персонажей, также в приключенческих играх важное значение уделяется инвентарю при решении загадок.
ВНИМАНИЕ: на сайте в категорию Adventure не попадают игры поджанров Quest и Interactive Fiction — для них созданы отдельные категории.

Признаки жанра
Как один из наиболее ранних жанров в истории компьютерных развлечений, «Adventure» весьма слабо поддаётся точному и однозначному определению.
Давшая имя всему этому жанру игра «Colossal Cave Adventure», созданная в 1976 году для мейнфрейма PDP-10, представляла собой типичный образец того, что ныне именуется Interactive Fiction, — текстового приключения, в котором все команды нужно было вводить вручную, а элементы будущих компьютерных ролевых игр (RPG) или rogue-like присутствовали ничуть не в меньшей мере. Знаменитая серия «Zork» также поначалу сочетала исследование подземелий с текстовыми же сражениями, — а окончательно основные признаки жанра были заложены уже в 1980-х годах благодаря деятельности таких именитых компаний, как Sierra On-Line и Lucasfilm Games. «Mystery House» от Sierra (1980 г.) стала первой в истории графической адвенчурой (и первым представителем серии игр Hi-Res Adventures), а «Maniac Mansion» от Lucasfilm Games (1987 г.) ознаменовал зарождение поджанра Point-and-click adventure games, отличающихся полным отсутствием текстового парсера и управлением при помощи передвижения курсора.
Постепенно стали складываться и более-менее узнаваемые признаки жанра, который с лёгкой руки той же Sierra и нескольких семейств её творений со словом «Quest» в заголовке получил на русскоязычном пространстве не совсем точное обозначение «квестов». К таковым признакам можно отнести:
